More than a Website: Herstasis’ Global Push for Menopause Literacy

Most websites are lucky if they prove its value to you in less than a minute before you leave. For Herstasis, users average nearly 3 minutes on the site, showing their trust in fully browsing the offered information and resources.

Serving over 100,000 readers across 144 countries with no AI or fees, the

Herstasis® Health Foundation is a woman-led organization dedicated to providing accessible menopause education and research support philanthropy, sharing real women’s real stories and links to authentic and comprehensive websites.

Inside Herstasis

Herstasis was founded in 2001 by Jennifer Thompson whose personal perimenopause journey drove her to act for women suffering from similar symptoms, turning Herstasis into a non-profit to make perimenopause, menopause, and women’s health information free and clear for every reader.

“At the height of my worst symptoms, I saw a specialist in women’s hormones who commented that her patients had time and resources to pursue testing and diagnoses,” says Thompson. “It highlighted an uncomfortable reality: those who receive specialized care often have greater access, resources, or the confidence to advocate for themselves. Menopause affects women across every race, culture, and socioeconomic background, but not everyone has the same path to diagnosis and treatment. That realization led me to create the Herstasis Health Foundation for all women.”

Treated as a platform to encourage education among women and menopause symptom sufferers, its YouTube channel has over 8,000 subscribers. With stories from women all over the world, this has encouraged users to discuss topics more openly online and gain support from a community that truly understands.

Providing Global Support for Women

Herstasis is not only a free resource for women’s health education, but also an active proponent of improving menopause literacy for underserved communities.

Through partnership with Menopause Initiative Uganda, Nabakooza, a community leader in Kampala, Uganda, was one of the 10 women Herstasis had the chance to gather for their perspective on menopause, unveiling the painful reality that many women face: menopause is universal but overlooked.

Herstasis isn’t stopping here, it funds Menopause Initiative Uganda, MenoSpark Rwanda, and Menopause Burundi, striving to reach and educate more women on their changing minds and bodies as they go through midlife

From printable graphic card decks and symptoms checklists to General Women’s Health and Science Reference Papers, Herstasis establishes itself as a library for trusted women’s health information for curated, referenced, science-based women’s health information.

What’s Next for Herstasis
