GOALS

  • Enhance the integration of menopause-related care into primary and specialty clinical practice.
  • Address knowledge gaps and clarify controversies surrounding hormone therapy and emerging therapeutic options.
  • Promote critical evaluation of common symptoms in midlife women, including brain fog, breast changes, and perimenopausal complexities, to improve diagnostic accuracy.
  • Support the application of current evidence on novel therapeutics (e.g. NK3 blockers, testosterone) in menopausal symptom management.

Learning Objectives

After active participation in this program, learners will be able to:

  • Integrate menopause screening and management into routine primary and specialty care encounters.
  •  Distinguish between evidence-based and non-evidence-based information about menopause and hormone therapy.
  •  Evaluate the safety, efficacy, and clinical indications for hormone therapy, including troubleshooting strategies for complex cases.
  • Interpret the role of NK3 blockers and testosterone in managing menopausal symptoms based on current clinical evidence.
  • Recognize overlapping symptoms such as ADHD and brain fog in midlife women, and apply appropriate diagnostic strategies.
  • Assess the significance of breast density in menopausal patients and its implications for screening and care.
  • Develop patient-centred communication strategies to address concerns, dispel myths, and support informed decision-making during the menopause transition.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues to reflect on case complexities and shared strategies for managing perimenopausal and menopausal care.
